May Running Races in Utah!

HAPPY FRIDAY!
WE MADE IT!

This was a long busy crazy week for me.  They have been lately to be honest.  I am really looking forward to this 2 week break between semesters.  Boy do I need it.

I am (mostly) thankful that training for these races falls right in my busy months.  I have the Salt Lake City half next weekend, and the Utah Valley marathon in June.  I have to say, putting these races on the books has been forcing me to run and has been a good stress reliever for those crazy days.

If you are as stressed out as me (if that is possible?) and need some motivation to lace up your sneakers, I HIGHLY encourage you to sign up for a local race.  Having that race on the calendar always helps me run more consistently which is the end goal (not any silly races).

Below, I compiled a list of races here in Utah next month.   There are SO many that I just tried to pick a few for each weekend that sounded fun and include a range of run to more serious races.

  1. Confession: I signed up for a race that I did not run last month. In my defense it was 15 degrees and I didn't wanna.
Confession 2: I was wanting to run a half this weekend, and then I stopped training. So I'm not doing it. But I am still planning for the May 31st half. Clearly it will be another slow one.

    1. A. I adore your honesty
      B. 15 degrees is not meant for running- never mind paying and racing on it- Good decision

And you have plenty of time for that May 31 half!

  2. One way to get back into being motivated to run is sign up for a race! My favorite one is coming up! Called Elevate 5k in Orem, UT! You should come run it with me! :)

    1. Tedi! I will be in CT April 30 to May 12 so I wont be here for that! But I would love to run a race together- what else is on your running agenda? Lets plan something!

    2. The only other race that I've signed up for is the Huntsville Marathon in September. I haven't found any other ones to run yet. I will let you know when I do! :)

  3. I'm running the SLC half next weekend too! What pace are you planning to run?

If you are looking for a race in August, I recommend the Park City half. It was my first half last summer and I had a great time!
